Return

Spring is blooming on and hundreds of Audubon’s Warblers are passing through our neighborhood like an incoming tide, along with many other birds. Some will nest in the wooded hills nearby, and others are moving to points further north. Right now, nearly every tree and shrub seems to have a few of these small birds in it. They fly out to chase gnats and glean other insects and spiders from every leaf and twig, flashing patches of bright yellow as they go.

This species is sometimes lumped with the somewhat similar Myrtle Warbler, and then both are called the Yellow-rumped Warbler.
